Adeola Aminat Odebode is an Associate Professor of Educational Guidance and Counselling at the Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. With a distinguished career in academia, she has made significant contributions to research, teaching, and student mentorship. Her expertise lies in mental health counselling, psycho-social challenges, and educational guidance, with a strong passion for advancing knowledge in her field through scholarly publications, participation in international conferences, and professional training.

She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Guidance and Counselling from the University of Ilorin in 2016, having previously obtained an M.Ed. in the same field in 2010 and a B.Ed. in 2005 from the same institution. In addition, she completed a Certificate Course in Computer Applications at Dataportro Technologies, Ilorin, in 2015. She also holds the Nigeria Certificate in Education.

Beyond her teaching responsibilities, she has served in various administrative and leadership capacities, including as Level Adviser, Postgraduate Seminar Coordinator, and Deputy Director of the School of Preliminary Studies at the University of Ilorin. She is an active member of several university committees, including the Certificate Fraud Investigation Committee, the Ideapreneurship Technical Committee, and the University Dress Code Committee. She also chairs the Faculty of Education Internationalization Committee, where she contributes to enhancing global engagement within the faculty. She is currently the Ag. Director, Centre for Management and Leadership University of Ilorin.

Her scholarly contributions extend to editorial and advisory roles in reputable international journals. She is a member of the Editorial Board of Applied Psychology Review and the Journal of Education and Teaching Management Research, Taylor and Wales, Australia. She also serves on the Editorial Board of the Australian Counselling Research Journal, published by the Australian Counselling Association, and is a member of the Advisory Board of Mimbar Sekolah Dasar at Universitas Pendidikan, Indonesia.

She is also a sought-after resource person and public speaker, delivering seminars and sensitization talks on various topics, including behaviour modification in schools, career guidance for secondary school students, and gender-based violence awareness. Some of her notable engagements include a seminar on Behaviour Modification Strategies in Schools at IQRA College, Ilorin, a career talk on the Path to Choosing a Career at Al-Mawrid College, and a sensitization talk on Gender-Based Violence and Sexual Harassment in Schools at the Mustapha Akanbi Library & Resource Centre, Ilorin.

With over fifty scholarly publications, her research focuses on mental health, counselling strategies, and psycho-social challenges affecting different populations. Some of her recent works include “The Psychosocial Challenges of Female Secondary School Students in Abeokuta Metropolis: Implications for Mental Health Counsellors,” published in Applied Psychology Review by the University of Management and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan. She has also co-authored research on “Impact of Maternal Demographics on Knowledge of Exclusive Breastfeeding Among Nursing Mothers in Ifelodun Local Government, Nigeria,” published in African Health Sciences by the Faculty of Medicine, Makerere University, Uganda. Another significant contribution is her study titled “Dialogue and Marital Dispute Resolution from the Perspectives of Lawyers and Counsellors in Ilorin Metropolis,” published in the African Journal of Clinical Psychology by Daystar University, Kenya.

Adeola Aminat Odebode remains committed to academic excellence, mental health advocacy, and the professional development of students and colleagues. Through her continuous involvement in mentorship, research, and international collaborations, she continues to make a lasting impact on the field of Educational Guidance and Counselling in Nigeria and beyond.
