Students’ Association

The students of the Department of Counsellor Education have an association known by the Department of Counsellor Education, the Faculty of Education and the University of Ilorin as Association of Student Counsellors in Nigeria (ASCON).

International Staff

The Department of Counsellor Education has a member of staff who is presently an international staff in person of Prof. A.O. Oniye. He is presently the Dean, School of Education, University of Kigali, Rwanda.

The Department of Counsellor Education has admitted, taught and graduated many international students. Some of these students had their first degree, while some others obtained their postgraduate degree from the Department of Counsellor Education.

Opportunities

Students studying Counsellor Education have a wide range of opportunities available to them, both during their academic journey and as they prepare to enter the field. Here are some potential opportunities: being able to organize practicum program; research; access to professional workshops; seminars; peer support counselling; publication and writing opportunities; community outreach; entrepreneurial ventures.
